Dr Adam Smith - A timeline

Adam Smith was born in 1723 in kirkcaldy, Scotland.

At the age of 14, entered Glasgow university, studying moral philosophy under Professor Francis Hutcheson.

In 1746 Adam Smith leaft Oxford and returned to Kirkcaldy. At the age of 31, Adam Smith was elected profesor of Logic at Glasgow university.

In 1759, Publisher his theory of moral sentiments. He became a tutor of the young Duke of Buccleuch in his big tour of europe, he met with intellectuals.

Adam Smith in 1766 begins work on The Wealth of Nations.

In 1783 he became a member of the Royal Society of Endimburgh.

Adam Smith died after a paintful illness, was buried in the canogate cemetery in Edinburgh's Royal Mile.
